Traditional Grammar can hardly explain the performance of a certain kind of structure which usually appears at the edge of the sentence - between pauses - and is used to indicate the source of the information provided. We are referring to expressions introduced by según, como, para, en palabras de or en opinión de. These structures are not fixed in Spanish, they have free mobility inside the sentence, and can specialize either in presenting the main responsible of discourse or in underlining the person that pronounced those words literally. Consequently, we need a pragmatics perspective, which transcends the concept of sentence and approaches the Evidentiality Theory (Dendale y Tasmowski 2001, Akhienvald 2003, Willet 1988). Such a perspective will allow us to explain similarities and differences between these expressions, which are highly effective from an argumentative point of view. Therefore, we are going to study their syntactic behavior (functions, mobility, occurrence in subordinated clauses), their form (nouns or clauses), their communicative function, and, finally, their supra-segmental characteristics. Lastly, the objective of this paper is to systematize this type of expressions that are found beyond the borders of the sentence.

Codi: PE0932. Curs acadèmic 2013-2014This project, “Castelló, ciutat de partida”, is a broadcasting report about young migrants in Spain during last years, since the beginning of the economical crisis in 2008. We took this theme as final choice because it is an important and increasing problem in our country. We have interviewed some people who are living far away from home right now and some people who have lived in many different countries, such as: United Kingdom, France, Germany and Netherlands.

Effect of DEM resolution on simulated hydrological connectivity in a Mediterranean agro-ecosystem with different crops

We seek to prove that connectivity thresholds and even the simulated functional HC, related to different hydrological processes, depends on the DEM resolution. This research was funded by the project “ Environmental and economic impact of soil loss (soil erosion footprint) in agro-ecosystems of the Ebro river basin: numerical modelling and scenario analysis (EuroCostModel) (CGL2014-54877- JOIN)” of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.Peer reviewe

Effect of LIDAR- and photogrammetry-derived DEM resolution on simulated hydrological features in contrasted agricultural systems (NE Spain)

1 .pdf file with the detailed abstract from the JGU Book Abstracts.- 1 .pdf copy of the front page of the oral presentation of the authors. The raster digital elevation model (DEM) resolution has influence on simulating hydrological features (stream characterization and morphology, watershed delineation and size, flow accumulation threshold values). The extra detail (higher quality) inherent in very high terrestrial data has benefits to analyse hydrological simulations. The trunks of the woody crops (vineyard, almond, olive, orange, coffee, tea and other fruit groves) and the plantation disposition act as permanent features in the land controlling the overland flow patterns. The scale-dependent information is necessary to utilise many scientific theories and provides hypotheses to be tested using large scale experimentation. The current advancements in computing facilities allow handle large data sets and model hydrological processes at catchment scale and using small grid cell sizes. However, we did not find any study dealing with the effect of DEM resolution on the magnitude and patterns of simulated hydrological features in woody crops. In this study, we evaluate the effect of coarse (5x5 m), high (0.5 to 1 m) and very high (0.10 m and lower) spatial resolution DEMs on simulating hydrological features and connectivity (HC) in two contrasted agricultural systems. This research was funded by the Spanish project “EroCostModel” (Ref. Abordamos el artículo con dos partes claramente diferenciadas. In this paper is included by two parts clearly differenced. At this first, we are focusing on a specific tumour: characteristics optic tumour in childhood and its determinant results for this some innovative and interesting aspects as a result of different developed research. At this time, the videoconference has been an alternative, not only as a resource or strategy but also as a point of view for the development of schoolwork at hospital room

Faceted patterns and anomalous surface roughening driven by long-range

We investigate Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) surface growth in the presence of power-law temporally correlated noise. By means of extensive numerical simulations of models in the KPZ universality class we find that, as the noise correlator index increases above some threshold value, the surface exhibits anomalous kinetic roughening of the type described by the generic scaling theory of Ramasco et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 84, 2199 (2000)]. Remarkably, as the driving noise temporal correlations increase, the surface develops a characteristic pattern of macroscopic facets that completely dominates the dynamics in the long time limit. We argue that standard scaling fails to capture the behavior of KPZ subject to long-range temporally correlated noise. These phenomena are not not described by the existing theoretical approaches, including renormalization group and self-consistent approaches.A.A. is grateful for the financial support from Programa de Pasantías de la Universidad de Cantabria in 2017 and 2018 (Projects No. 70-ZCE3- 226.90 and No. 62-VCES-648). . Endoplasmic Reticulum Export of GPI-Anchored Proteins

    Get PDF
Protein export from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is an essential process in all eukaryotes driven by the cytosolic coat complex COPII, which forms vesicles at ER exit sites for transport of correctly assembled secretory cargo to the Golgi apparatus. The COPII machinery must adapt to the existing wide variety of different types of cargo proteins and to different cellular needs for cargo secretion. The study of the ER export of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins (GPI-APs), a special glycolipid-linked class of cell surface proteins, is contributing to address these key issues. Due to their special biophysical properties, GPI-APs use a specialized COPII machinery to be exported from the ER and their processing and maturation has been recently shown to actively regulate COPII function. In this review, we discuss the regulatory mechanisms by which GPI-APs are assembled and selectively exported from the ER.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad de España (MINECO)-BFU2017-89700-

Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for improving the topic modeling of the official bulletin of the spanish state (BOE)

Since Internet was born most people can access fully free to a lot sources of information. Every day a lot of web pages are created and new content is uploaded and shared. Never in the history the humans has been more informed but also uninformed due the huge amount of information that can be access. When we are looking for something in any search engine the results are too many for reading and filtering one by one. Recommended Systems (RS) was created to help us to discriminate and filter these information according to ours preferences. This contribution analyses the RS of the official agency of publications in Spain (BOE), which is known as "Mi BOE'. The way this RS works was analysed, and all the meta-data of the published documents were analysed in order to know the coverage of the system. The results of our analysis show that more than 89% of the documents cannot be recommended, because they are not well described at the documentary level, some of their key meta-data are empty. So, this contribution proposes a method to label documents automatically based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). The results are that using this approach the system could recommend (at a theoretical point of view) more than twice of documents that it now does, 11% vs 23% after applied this approach

A cloud-based tool for sentiment analysis in reviews about restaurants on TripAdvisor

The tourism industry has been promoting its products and services based on the reviews that people often write on travel websites like TripAdvisor.com, Booking.com and other platforms like these. These reviews have a profound effect on the decision making process when evaluating which places to visit, such as which restaurants to book, etc. In this contribution is presented a cloud based software tool for the massive analysis of this social media data (TripAdvisor.com). The main characteristics of the tool developed are: i) the ability to aggregate data obtained from social media; ii) the possibility of carrying out combined analyses of both people and comments; iii) the ability to detect the sense (positive, negative or neutral) in which the comments rotate, quantifying the degree to which they are positive or negative, as well as predicting behaviour patterns from this information; and iv) the ease of doing everything in the same application (data downloading, pre-processing, analysis and visualisation). As a test and validation case, more than 33.500 revisions written in English on restaurants in the Province of Granada (Spain) were analyse
